The Lenovo ThinkPad T430s is the newest slim version of the Lenovo brand T series. It was released in June 2012. The significant changes of its competitor T420s are that the T430s comes with the 3rd Generation of Intel processors and Lenovo’s new backlit keyboard. For Core i5 models, there is a graphics update as well. It is the NVIDIA NVS 5200M with the best technology.
The only T430 which has no “s” at the end of its name is similar to T430s, but it is slightly heavier.

Design and Build:

The T420s are almost similar to the T430s, and they both maintain the business look, which can be seen in every ThinkPad machine. At 13.50″ x 9.05″ x 0.83″ – 1.02″ (front to back), it feels very light but somewhat full. According to ThinkPad machines, the roll cage which surrounds the key components is entirely made of magnesium. T430s comes with a weight of 4 lbs. Like all other ThinkPads, finish, fit, and durability is so much impressive.
All parts are assembled correctly. The top of the laptop’s cover is a soft-touch material with the ThinkPad logo on the right and the Lenovo logo on the left.

The bottom of the laptop can be helpful when trying to change different components of T430s like all other laptops like RAM, Hard Drive, Battery, etc.
Overall, the ports which T430s offers and their layout is satisfactory, but if there were an HDMI port and an extra USB port, it would have been excellent.
The ThinkPad machines are beneficial not just because of their performance and build but also because of their spare parts. Their spare parts are available almost everywhere. You can also add an SSD (Solid State Drive) in it to increase the speed of it by 5x. Generally, in every laptop, hard drive’s speed is around 100mb/s (Read/Write), but when you insert an SSD in it and install the operating system there, the rate gets around 500mb/s (Read/Write) which is fantastic.

Overall, the T430s is a business machine which can be very useful in the primary type of tasks like doing MS Office work, basic video editing, Freelancing, etc. It is also light in weight and small in size that it can be used for travelling comfortably. Due to its easy upgradability, its parts can be replaced easily compared to other manufacturers, which reduces the number the spare parts. The screen of it can be damaged because it is a weak spot. However, it is sufficient for business purposes. I would have recommended the classic keyboard instead of the backlit keyboard, but it remains an overall strong point.
So if you are looking for a business laptop like this one, I would highly recommend you to buy Lenovo ThinkPad T430s.
